OK carbs get bunged up on the inside as well as dirt on the outside , the *rap pushed thru by the ERG valve does not help
No ultrasonic cleaner read on
the carb will need removing and stripping down, the only screw that you need to watch is the mixture screw located at the front /bottom of the carb , when removing the carb you can leave the slide/needle connected to the cable on the bike
a picci here showing the carb , complete with a description of parts , you are more interested in small washers and seals
what you need now after stripping the carb (inc removing the choke) is a nice run to asda !!!
you need 2 or 3 x lemon concentrate at about 50p each!!!
OK , send the wife to bingo and go into the kitchen and find a large pan , place all the ALUMINIUM carb bits in (not the brass jets or rubber seals) and pour boiling water in until about 1/2 in from covering , add the lemon concentrate , then top up with more boiling water ,apply heat from the cooker and boil for 10 mins , you will see the dirt floating off !
drain and refill with clean water and do about another 10 mins ,to neutralice the lemon then rinse under hot water and dry
rebuild the carb using pic above
reset the mix screw to the number of turns it was out from fully in
a clean carb is a happy carb
